Community Service
Zambia Africa
I went to Zambia, Africa to serve Oasis Village with 30 others. We shipped over supplies to finish building a school for many villages nearby. Along with the building supplies, we also donated medical supplies and other miscellaneous items for the adults and children. All the adults and children have been victims of AIDS and most of the children are orphans. My experience I had in this village showed me how privileged I am to have the opportunity to attend great schools and how much education makes a difference in society. I also went through an emotional understanding of the happiness in each one of the child's hearts. Their happiness came from their community and how they embrace the help from one-another.
Along with other service projects I have done, I have built a huge passion for the communities I am in. When you have the passion, you can succeed in making it a better place.

Workplace
I have worked for Whole Foods Market for almost two years. As a supervisor I learn a great deal about team building, motivation, financial operations, retail, and customer service. My job goes hand-in-hand with my Mass Communications/Business studies in which I appreciate the opportunity to learn in a classroom while being able to apply those methods on a daily basis. On the "General Education" page there is a file on the Computer Lit link to a report written for a Foundations of Business class taken in college presenting the connection of my workplace to my education.
